Standard Time Zones
Summary:
Maybe one day you have been asked yourself and you are surprised why some countries do not have the same time, or why the time in that country is different from your country time. I have asked this question to myself too, but now I have found the reason, which is the time zones. Therefore, in this Massive Movement Project there are a lot of topics that we should know because anything that happens in the Earth has a reason and has factors. Each group has a different topic, and our topic is time zones. What is time zones or what you know about it, well before you know what time zones, you should know everything in the Earth because it will help you and give you a correct knowledge of the time zones, so the first thing we will talk about is the axis, what is the axis? Axis a line on the middle on the Earth that goes from north to south , the Earth is turning around that line, the earth's axis is tilted 23.5°C and it also includes the point known as the center of gravity. After we know what is the axis, now we must know what is the Equator, the Equator is the main line of latitude, it separates the earth in 2 hemispheres north and south. Now you may ask what is mean hemisphere, hemisphere is the half of the Earth, which is mean the north hemisphere and the south hemisphere. The prime meridian is the main line of longitude, it separates the Earth in 2 hemispheres east and west. Greenwich Mean Time or GMT is where time starts. We use GMT when we don’t know the time of a place. The GMT time is 0 hours, it’s the time zone that we use to find others countries time, the time is increasing as we going to the west and the time is decreasing as we going to the east. There is also another line in the other side of the Earth, and it called the International Date Line and it is a line on the other side of The prime meridian, when you cross that line date change. Longitude are the lines that run on the Earth from north to south. Now after we know all that information, we comes to our topic what do time zones mean? A Time zone is a region, place on the Earth that observes a uniform standard time for commercial and social purposes. Rotation the circular movement of the Earth around its axis. The Earth moves 15° each hour because the Earth rotation rate is 360° of longitude, so 360° divided by 24 hours it's equal 15°, and this is how we divide the Earth into 24 time zones. Thus this movement causes the day and the night.

1. Critical Thinking Questions:
A. How do the sun, moon and the earth work together as a system?
The Earth and the moon work together to create eclipses. When the moon is between the sun and the it causes the solar eclipse, and the phase of the moon is a new moon. When the Earth is between the sun and the moon it causes the lunar eclipse, and the phase of the moon is a full moon. The moon and the sun work together to create the tides. The tides happens because of the gravity of moon and the sun. When the sun and the moon in the same direction of the Earth it cause the spring tide, which is high tide, but when the moon is not in the same direction with the sun it cause the neap tide, which is low tide. Thus, this proves that the earth can not work alone and each object have to work with another object to create something that is benefit our planet. And this is how the earth, sun and the moon work together as a system.
B. How are the movement of the Sun, Moon and Earth apparent on Earth?
The movements of the Earth affect us every day by changing the day and night, and the day and night happens because of the rotation. When the Earth revolve around its axis it cause the day and night, and it take 24 hours for the Earth to rotate on its axis to complete only one orbit. The other movement is revolution, which it cause the seasons, but it takes one year and six hours for the Earth to rotate around the sun to complete only one orbit. Also there is another motion, which is the tides, what cause the water on Earth to move is because the gravity of the moon and the sun, and it takes the moon 29 days to complete an orbit around the Earth . Therefore, this shows how each motion have an impact on the Earth.
2. Reflection:
A. What did you enjoy most about this project and why?
The most part that I enjoyed in this project is when we were filming our project because I felt that it was the only part that we work together without argument.
B. What was the most challenging for you during this project and why?
The most challenging part for me during this project is during the filming because we repeated the passage more than once to make sure that there is no any mistakes, also because we have to move the props with the speech in the same time.
C. What new skills did you learn from doing this project?
The new skill that I learned from doing this project is how to use iMovie.\
